Elder Long's New Ride!

Dear Family and Friends,

Two months from today and we will be on our way home to Morgan.  While on the subject, if anyone coming out is able to bring our 12' flatbed aluminum trailer, it would be appreciated.  Bob happened to find his dream covered wagon and it needs a ride home since we have no oxen and definitely not the time needed to make the trip.  Anyway give him a call if you are coming this way and have the means to pull the trailer. We have the truck to pull it home.  You'll  get first ride in the wagon.

Bob's Aunt Carole and his cousins, Connie and Anne came for a visit this past week.  It couldn't have gone better if it had been scripted. I was on a schedule where I had time off in the middle of the day so I brought them to the house for lunch. Then we went on a carriage ride with Bob doing the narration. Elder Spencer, who was with Bob on the carriage, gave each of them a Book of Mormon. It worked perfectly for him to do this.  They accepted it willingly.  We'll see if they read it.   After the carriage ride, I was able to get them into the play "The Promise". They loved it.  Then Bob met up with them and took them to see the home where Carole and his mom lived as little girls and family grave sites. Aunt Carole pointed out the grave of an Aunt Grace that Bob didn't know about.  Later he was able to link several family members together because of that find. That same evening they came to watch us perform in "Sunset by the Mississippi". They had fun seeing their relatives dancing and singing.

The next day Bob and I were assigned to the wagon.  He driving and I narrating.  Again it was great to share this time with them. They had to leave after the ride but were so thankful they came and Aunt Carole said she was coming again and bringing more of her children. Pretty good missionary for a Catholic. One of the biggest outcomes from this visit was mutual respect and understanding.  We loved sharing and listening.

We thought with just 2 months left here in Nauvoo, we could just ride gracefully into the sunset.  No, we just received assignments as District Leaders and I am the new coordinator for the Brigham Young home.  I love his home and am thrilled to be chosen to help care for it.

Friday for our Prep day,  we found a new activity. Bob had a cracked wisdom tooth pulled.  It went well but we decided to cross that off the list for prep day activities.

We love you all and enjoy our service.  The Lord opens so many avenues to share the gospel on both sides of the veil.
